Project management of public art commissions
This includes the following services:
- Advice on sites, budgets and function or concept of artwork
- Development of brief for an artist
- Management of selection process
- Assistance with artist contracts
- Monitoring progress of the commission and reporting regularly to the client
- Overseeing the installation
If you already have the capacity to project manage a public art commission but need advice and guidance on the selection of an artist, we can offer a more limited service than our full project management service. You can appoint us for Stages 1 to 3 above only if that is your requirement.
Additional services can also be included if required, such as fundraising and publicity.
Preparation of public art strategies, feasibility studies and public art policies
Either as a standalone document or as part of a larger masterplan, we can produce public art strategies for towns, parks, hospitals, boroughs and specific regeneration schemes.
Training seminars
Public art projects require collaboration between people from many different backgrounds including: architects, landscape architects, engineers, planners, regeneration officers, developers, none of whom necessarily have any experience of working with an artist or knowledge of art. Celfwaith can design training seminars specifically for your needs.
Artist selection for private commissions
If you are a private individual or small organisation who wishes to commission an original work of art or functional craft piece we can visit your home or office and guide you through the process of selecting an artist.
Databases - websites
Celfwaith can create custom made databases for you should you wish to create your own artist database or a works of art database and/or publish it online.
